Rory Underwood is widely regarded as one of England’s greatest wingers. He made his international debut for England in 1984 and went on to earn 85 caps, scoring 49 tries and becoming England’s all-time leading try scorer at the time. Underwood played a key role in England’s success during the late 1980s and early 1990s, helping them win the Five Nations Championship in 1992 and 1993. He represented the British & Irish Lions on two tours, to Australia in 1989 and New Zealand in 1993, becoming one of England’s most recognised players of his era. At club level, Underwood enjoyed a long career with Leicester Tigers, where he became one of the club’s leading try scorers before retiring from rugby in 1998.
