Ronan O’Gara is widely regarded as one of the greatest fly-halves in rugby history. He spent the majority of his playing career with Munster, becoming one of the province’s most important players and helping them win two European Cups and three Celtic League titles. Known for his goal-kicking, passing and game management, O’Gara scored 1,083 points for Ireland across 128 appearances, making him one of the country’s most capped and highest-scoring players. Internationally, he helped Ireland win the Six Nations Championship and Grand Slam in 2009, with his famous late drop goal against Wales in the Grand Slam decider helping Ireland secure their first Grand Slam in 61 years. After retiring as a player, O’Gara moved into coaching and has gone on to achieve major success with La Rochelle in particular, leading the club to back-to-back European Champions Cup titles in 2022 and 2023.
